International scientific conference “Historical and modern trends in Russia–Mongolia relations: towards the 100th anniversary” is going to be held on the sidelines of the 6th Eastern Economic Forum. The event is timed to coincide with the centenary of diplomatic relations between the countries. Historical exhibition which is set to be opened at the EEF 2021 will be dedicated to the anniversary as well. The event is organized by the Russian Historical Society, the ‘History of Fatherland’ Foundation and the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
On the Russian side, the event will be attended by Mikhail Piotrovsky, Director of the State Hermitage and Chairman of the Russian Historical Society branch in St. Petersburg, Irina Popova, Director of the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Ilya Zaitsev, Deputy Director of the State Museum of the East, Leading Researcher at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences and board member of the ‘History of Fatherland’ Foundation, Sergei Mironenko, Scientific Director of the State Archives of the Russian Federation and Council Member at the Russian Historical Society, Yefim Pivovar, President of the Russian State University for the Humanities and Council Member at the Russian Historical Society, among others.
From the Mongolian side, the conference will be attended by Chuluunbaatar Gelegpil, First Vice-President of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences. He will be joined by representatives of the Institute of History and Ethnology, the Institute of International Relations, and the Institute of Philosophy of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, as well as the Mongolian Defense Research Institute, the Main Archive Administration of Mongolia and the Ulaanbaatar-Erdem University.
Participants of the international discussion platform will analyze and evaluate various historical aspects of the ‘Agreement between the Government of the RSFSR and the People’s Government of Mongolia on the establishment of friendly relations’ concluded on 5 November 1921, and its significance for the relations between the two countries. They will also discuss the historical background, as well as the current state and prospects of the Russia–Mongolia relations.
“The topic of the scientific conference is relevant in light of the necessity to strengthen political, economic and humanitarian cooperation, deepen mutual understanding between the peoples of Russia and Mongolia, promote stability, security and good neighborliness,” said Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, Executive Secretary of the Organizing Committee of the Eastern Economic Forum.
The main topics to be covered at the conference include:
• 100 years of diplomatic relations between Russia and Mongolia: history and present day;
• comprehensive strategic partnership: development factors and prospects;
• trade and economic relations: history, problems and new projects;
• military cooperation between Russia and Mongolia;
• drivers for interaction in the Russia–Mongolia relations in the humanitarian sphere: education, science, culture, cooperation between archives, archaeological research, museum collections.
The 6th Eastern Economic Forum will be held on 2–4 September 2021 in Vladivostok. The EEF 2021 business programme consists of four main tracks: ‘The New Economy: What Changes and What Stays the Same’, ‘The Far East: New Challenges and Opportunities’, ‘Our Shared Responsibility in a Changing World’ and ‘Youth EEF’. International events will include Business Dialogues ‘Russia–ASEAN’, ‘Russia–Korea’, ‘Russia–China’, ‘Russia–India’, ‘Russia–Europe’, and ‘Russia–Japan’. An APEC conference on higher education and a discussion on the formation of the Greater Eurasian Partnership are also planned.

Bahrain Joins Framework Declaration on Conservation of Gyrfalcons
The Kingdom of Bahrain has become the seventh country to join the Declaration of Intent for the Conservation of the Gyrfalcon Population. The document was adopted by Russia, China, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and the UAE as part the Falcon Day International Forum, which was first held in Vladivostok during the 8th Eastern Economic Forum. The event was managed by the Roscongress Foundation.

2nd Falcon Day International Forum Dates Announced
The Organizing Committee of the 2nd Falcon Day International Forum met in Moscow under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Viktoria Abramchenko. The meeting was attended by representatives of the federal executive authorities and regional heads of the Russian Federation.
