EEF 2019 Cultural Programme: Botticelli Painting, Open-Air Cinema and the ‘Far East Street’ Exhibition

Guest and participants of the 5th Eastern Economic Forum, which will take place in Vladivostok on 46 September, will have a chance to enjoy a diverse cultural and sightseeing programme.

This year marks the anniversary of the Eastern Economic Forum. Starting from the very first Forum, apart from establishing business cooperation, one of its goals was introducing the guests and participants to the charm of the Far East, its history and cultural diversity. An eventful programme contributes to the expansion of humanitarian interaction and cultural integration between countries of the Asia-Pacific region, says Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation and the Executive Secretary of the Eastern Economic Forums Organizing Committee.

EEF guests will have a chance to visit the leading museums of Vladivostok, as well as the Primorsky Aquarium. At the Primorye State Art Gallery, apart from the permanent exhibition Russian art of the 16th early 20th centuries, one can enjoy an exhibition of antique jewellery Matrons jewel box. Roman jewels from the State Hermitage collection. The exhibition presents rare items: earrings, rings, bracelets and necklaces of the era. Besides that, a masterpiece of Fyodor Reshetnikov, Low Marks Again from the State Tretyakov Gallerys collection will be on display.

At the Eastern Economic Forum, a masterpiece of the Italian Renaissance artist Sandro Botticelli, Madonna della Loggia from the collection of the Uffizi Gallery in Florence will be brought to Russia for the first time. On 35 September the painting will be displayed at the Forum venue, and starting from 8 September the masterpiece will be available to all visitors of the Primorye State Art Gallery.

The concert and theatre section of the programme includes Don Quixote ballet and the Gala concert of the XVI International Tchaikovsky Competition prize-winners from the Asia-Pacific region, which will take place on the Primorsky stage of the Mariinsky Theatre. On 6 September the venue will host the grand opening of the Indian Culture Days in Russia. In addition, the Primorye Regional Philharmonic will present the new Broadway vs Hollywood show programme where pop singers are going to perform some of the well-known hits.

Vladivostoks Sportivnaya Naberezhnaya will host the 2nd Festival of Cultures and Arts Constellation of the Far East. As part of the event, Peace Days in the Pacific Festival dedicated to the end of the Second World War will be held on 5 September. On 67 September, leading performance groups of the Far Eastern regions will entertain the residents and guests of the city. On 8 September, a charity event and concert Ice Cream Day organized by Podari Zhizn charity foundation will be held. Proceeds will be used to provide care for children with oncological diseases.

One of the key events of the cultural programme will be the Far East Street exhibition, where 11 regions of the Far East will present their potential and achievements in economics, culture and tourism. The exhibition will also feature the Open-Air Cinema venue, which will showcase Russian films and cartoons released between 2017 and 2019, as well as the best short films of the Koroche Festival. Indian Cinema Night will take place at the same venue on 6 September.

On 36 September, the Far East Street will be open for EEF guests and participants; 7 September is the social day for large families, pensioners, veterans and representatives of youth organizations; on 8 September exhibition will be open to all visitors.
