The Republic of Buryatia will take part in the ‘Far East Street’
exhibition to be held in Vladivostok on 10–17 September as part of the 8th
Eastern Economic Forum. This year’s display is called ‘Baikal–Buryatia. Live”.
EEF 2023 is organized by the Roscongress Foundation.
“Baikal is one of a kind. It is the advantage of Russia. It is the face of Buryatia. Besides, the region is famous for its unique culture and traditions. However, no less important is the economic development of the Republic, the development of existing and the launch of new investment projects. Participants and guests of the Eastern Economic Forum will be able to learn how the Republic lives and develops,” said Yury Trutnev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Plenipotentiary Envoy of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District of the Russian Federation.
Visitors to the pavilion of the Republic of Buryatia at ‘Far East Street’ exhibition will get to learn more about tourist routes, a cruise on Lake Baikal, national parks, and a Buddhist centre. Online and offline venues with interactive programmes will help them make a virtual journey.
In addition, various exhibitions will be organized: Buryatia’s gallery
of folk arts and crafts will present products of factories, plants and folk
craftsmen in ethnic style made of natural materials, while Oriental Way will
present a collection of jade products dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the
Republic of Buryatia.
“On the one hand, our task is immense. Even such a busy pavilion will
not allow us to convey all the beauty of our Republic. On the other hand, the
display will help guests to learn more about Buryatia’s incredible potential.
And this will undoubtedly encourage you to visit our hospitable region sooner,”
said Alexei Tsydenov, Head of the Republic of Buryatia.
The pavilion will host performances by the Baikal Waves folk song and
dance ensemble, the Razdolie ensemble, and vocalists. Master classes on
fortune-telling on lamb bones ‘Shagaai Nadan’, felting from sheep wool, and
making jewellery are planned. Visitors will also be able to view paintings by
Buryatian artists. As part of the display, a traditional Buryat yurt will be
presented. It will host a presentation of works by artist Zorikto Dorzhiev. He
will personally conduct masterclasses on creating drawings on a tablet with an
interactive yurt displayed on the screen.
In addition, guests of
the pavilion will be able to consult specialists from the Centre of Asian
Medicine. Doctors will use various diagnostic procedures using pulse or medical
equipment to determine a person’s condition and give recommendations on how to improve
their well-being.
Special attention will be paid to the region’s participation in the Special
Military Operation. Bairma Yeshidorzhieva’s paintings dedicated to the SMO will
be presented, as well as promising products, such as Aerocom’s drones or
Sheneskin’s project of medical devices called ‘Living Skin’.
Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant will be the flagship of the Republic of
Buryatia’s achievements in the industrial sphere and will present promising
models of helicopters. The investment projects zone will host import
substitution projects (Optolux: production of lighting equipment), promising
projects in the mining industry (Baikalnedrageo LLC), projects for the
production of tin and cardboard containers from the region’s flagships Pulp and
Cardboard Mill and Baikal Tin Company, as well as the presentation of promising
projects within the framework of the master plans for the development of
Ulan-Ude and Severobaikalsk.
The ‘Far East Street’ exhibition is organized by the Roscongress
Foundation with the support of the Office of the Presidential Envoy in the Far
Eastern Federal District.
The Eastern Economic Forum will be held on
10–13 September 2023 in Vladivostok on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal
University.
