Citizens from 18 countries have received more than 6,500 electronic visas to enter the Russian Far East through the Free Port of Vladivostok over the last five months during which a simplified visa regime has been in effect in the Primorye Territory, according to the press service of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East.
The electronic visa programme has been in operation since 1 August 2017. Since then, China has accounted for the largest number of tourists entering Vladivostok on an e-visa with roughly 2,600 people. Japan ranks second with more than 1,500 people taking advantage of the simplified visa regime. “Citizens from another 12 countries also utilized the e-visa”, the Ministry said.
