Association of Lawyers of the Russian Federation to Hold Session at 4th Eastern Economic Forum

Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, met in Moscow with Vladimir Gruzdev, Chairman of the Board of the Association of Lawyers of the Russian Federation (ALRF), and Alexander Stuglev, Chairman of the Board and CEO of the Roscongress Foundation. Stanislav Alexandrov, Managing Director and Chief of Staff of ALRF, and Anton Alexandrov, Partner of Monastyrsky, Zyuba, Stepanov & Partners, also attended this meeting.

The parties discussed the key takeaways of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum and of the ALRF session called Competitiveness of Russian Jurisdiction: Rebooting the Legal Environment for Business as a Pathway towards a Trust Economy, which attracted much interest among the Forum guests. The meeting attendees recognized the success of the session and the relevance of its agenda. Therefore, it was decided to organize a session on the Russian jurisdiction at the 4th Eastern Economic Forum, which will take place in Vladivostok on 11–13 September 2018.

“Given that one of the goals of the EEF is to strengthen the ties between the Russian and international investment community, business and government, it is extremely important to continue discussing the competitive advantages and possible directions for the development of modern Russian jurisdiction,” emphasized Vladimir Gruzdev.

Moreover, the meeting discussed joint plans under the trilateral agreements signed between the Roscongress Foundation, ALRF and twenty Russian regions, as well as with Monastyrsky, Zyuba, Stepanov & Partners. The agreements stipulate that the parties will jointly act as organizers and participants of the events, host thematic forums, conferences and seminars. The Association of Lawyers of the Russian Federation, in turn, will promote projects of legal education and free legal support for citizens and of legislation improvement.

“The Association of Lawyers’ experience, well-functioning offices in almost every region of the country, and most importantly, the expertise of highly qualified lawyers enable us to confidently take on the tasks that are provided for by agreements,” concluded the Chairman of the ALRF Board.
