Deputy Minister of Construction, Housing, and Utilities of
the Russian Federation Nikita Stasishin and Deputy CEO of the Roscongress
Foundation Grigory Velikikh met with key Urban Hub partners to discuss the organization
and holding of the international discussion platform at the Eastern Economic
Forum 2024.
Stasishin noted how co-operation between the Foundation and
the Ministry had reached new strategic heights with the parties jointly implementing
successful initiatives benefiting the development of the domestic construction
industry and pointed to the Urban Hub, in particular, as a tool for industry co-ordination
and management.
“The Urban Hub in Vladivostok will continue to bring
together participants of the construction industry in Russia and friendly
countries. We will team up with industry leaders to talk about how to fulfil
the goals and objectives listed in the May Decree of the Russian President
under the Infrastructure for Life national project. This year there will be a
new set of educational masterclasses from those implementing complex
development projects across our country, and we will share actual measures of
support for the industry and an analysis of the latest changes to federal and
regional legislation,” Stasishin said.
Velikikh thanked the Russian Ministry of Construction for its
support of the event and spoke about what the platform had accomplished so far,
announcing the theme for the Urban Hub at the Eastern Economic Forum 2024, ‘City
by the Water’: “Virtually every
city in the Far East and the Arctic is located on a sea or river. Just consider
how this crucial factor has affected the development of the urban environment,
economy, connections to other cities and regions, and human capital.”
The attendees discussed the draft programme of the 4th
Urban Hub and made suggestions for how the platform might work. Organizers have
decided to add a special sporting element to complement the business and
educational programmes.
Urban Hub was first held as a part of SPIEF in June 2023.
The event in Vladivostok will be the discussion platform’s fourth iteration. It
is being organized by the Roscongress Foundation together with leading partners
from the urban planning sector and the support of the Russian Ministry of
Construction.
Urban Hub contributes to the integrated development of
settlements and infrastructure and works to make transport more accessible, something
that aligns with the priorities of the new Infrastructure for Life national
project.
