EEF Junior 2022 Outcomes

For the second time, a special junior section EEF Junior, one of the key regular events of the Point Junior project implemented by the Content Foundation, was held within the framework of EEF. The participants of the section successfully outlined a vector for involving the younger generation in the development of the Far East.

58 high school students from 19 regions of the country involved in project and invention activities took part in EEF Junior, met with leading representatives of the professional and expert community, and demonstrated their vision for participation in the life of FEFD.

“We organized the EEF Junior section for the second time and managed to bring together school students not only from the Far East, which allowed the participants to model a common vision for the development of the region and the country as a whole,” said Elena Sokolova, Director of the Content Foundation.

The junior section was most effective for the young exhibitors of the special exhibition at EEF Junior, who brought their own prototypes of already working inventions and innovative solutions ready to enter big markets. Representatives of major funds and companies – such as the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, Rosatom State Corporation, Sber, Norilsk Nickel, VEB.RF, and others – promised to support the inventions.

The EEF Junior business programme, which combined project laboratories, panel discussions and peer-to-peer dialogues, covered many areas of development in the Far East, including the transformation of the education system, the emergence of new career paths, support for youth entrepreneurship, urban development, and the socio-cultural environment.

One of the highlights of the youth section was the ‘Dialogue of equals’ with Alexei Chekunkov, Minister of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic. In an informal conversation, the participants discussed the measures taken to motivate young professionals to stay in the region, increasing the tourism appeal of the Russian Far East, and the impact of young people on the development of the region.

“I have seen many interesting and talented young people today, and I hope that I will see many of you again, but already in our development institutions, in the authorities and, of course, in business. And for this, we are certainly ready to provide all kinds of support,” said Alexei Chekunkov, Minister of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic.

A large number of prominent experts took part in the EEF Junior business programme, including: Grigory Kuranov, Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the Russian President in the Far Eastern Federal District; Mikhail Degtyarev, Governor of Khabarovsk Territory; Alexandra Lebedeva, Deputy Prime Minister of Kamchatka Territory; Konstantin Shestakov, Head of Vladivostok; Evgeny Grigoriev, Head of Yakutsk; Irina Makiyeva, General Managing Partner for Urban Development at VEB.Russia; Alexander Isaevich, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the SME Corporation; Alexander Vaino, Head of the ASI Centre for Youth Initiatives; and Natalia Popova, First Deputy General Director of Innopraktika, a non-profit development institute.

In addition to the busy business programme, EEF Junior participants enjoyed an equally rich sporting and cultural programme, including participation in the charity event – Vladivostok Run, junior chess and table tennis tournaments, as well as a visit to the largest science and education centre, the Primorsky Aquarium, and the ‘Far East Street’ exhibition in Ajax Bay.

EEF Junior is one of the key regular events of the Point Junior project implemented by the Content Foundation with the support of the Roscongress Foundation and the Innopraktika non-profit development institute. The partners of EEF Junior are Rosneft, Udokan Copper and the Russian Environmental Operator.
