VLADIMIR PUTIN: THE MAIN TASK OF THE EEF IS REPRESENTING SPECIFIC PROJECTS TO INVESTORS FOR COLLABORATION

The perspectives of Eastern Economic Forum were highlighted by the Russian President Vladimir Putin in an interview with the Russian News Agency TASS and the Chinese news agency Xinhua. According to the President, despite sanctions imposed against Russia, hindering the development of full-fledged economic cooperation, the interest of foreign business in the country has increased. "There is no doubt that the first Eastern Economic Forum that will be held in Vladivostok on September 3-5, will also be attractive to our foreign partners — and, above all, to the Asia-Pacific region," — said Vladimir Putin. He noted that the main objective of the forum is "positioning Russia as an active participant in economic and integration processes in the Asia-Pacific region, representing investors of specific projects for collaboration." There is big interest that is already being shown by the business community in India, Vietnam, Korea, Japan, Singapore and other countries, including those not geographically relevant to the region. The President singled out the presence of the Chinese delegation to Eastern Economic Forum. "We highly appreciate the intention of our Chinese partners to send a large delegation, which will include businessmen from more than one hundred leading energy, mining, transport, agriculture, engineering and other companies, as well as large financial institutions, representatives of central authorities and governors. We look forward to their active participation in the forum," — said the head of state.
