The ‘Far East Street’ construction to launch on 1 June

On 1 June, on the campus of Far Eastern Federal University in Vladivostok, the construction of the regional pavilions of the ‘Far East Street’ exhibition will begin. The display, which worked during the Eastern Economic Forum in 2021, will open in a renewed format in September 2022, and will become publicly accessible.

The grand opening of the exhibition will take place on the waterfront of Ajax Bay on 5 September. On the days of the 7th Eastern Economic Forum and the 2nd International Tiger Forum, the exhibition will be available for guests of the events. From 9 to 11 September, the pavilions of the ‘Far East Street’ will be open for all the residents and guests of Primorye. In the future it is planned that the exhibition will become permanent.

Visitors will be able to see 11 pavilions of the ‘Far East Street’ pavilions, which symbolize the distinctive regions of the Far Eastern Federal District. In order to save budgetary funds and due to the seasonal factor, the pavilions were mothballed in September 2021 at the end of the 6ер Eastern Economic Forum. However, this year, the external and internal content of the exhibition will change noticeably: drawings for renovation are already being approved, and interactive technologies and night illumination are planned to be added to the display.

For the first time, the exhibition will feature two new pavilions. The pavilion of Tourism.RF Corporation will demonstrate the main directions of the corporation’s activity with a special emphasis on projects in the Far East. The multimedia pavilion ‘House of Tiger’ will be dedicated to the 2nd International Tiger Forum and will showcase Russia’s achievements in the conservation of this rare predator. Visitors of the exhibition will be able to see exhibits of Russian Helicopters holding: the Ka-62 helicopter at the display of PROGRESS JSC and the Mi-8 at the display of the Republic of Buryatia.

For the second year in a row, a large-scale pavilion of the Ministry of Sport of Russia will work at the exhibition, where projects for the development of physical culture and sports in Russia will be shown. It is planned to organize competitions in the GTO Games format.

Along with EEF delegates, residents and tourists of Vladivostok, foreign students of the FEFU will be able to visit the ‘Far East Street’ exhibition and the House of the Tiger. Many of them come from tiger-range countries: Bangladesh, Vietnam, India, Indonesia, China, DPRK, Laos, Nepal, and others. For the first time, the academic year will not start later in connection with the Forum.

The final completion date for all work in the pavilions is the end of August 2022.

“This year the ‘Far East Street’ exhibition will open again for Forum participants, residents of Vladivostok, guests of Primorye Territory and the Far Eastern Federal District. We are pleased to make it publicly available – everyone will be able to personally assess the achievements of the eastern regions of Russia and the Far East as a whole, learn about the diversity of lifestyles of the peoples of the Far East, the regional characteristics of the region, and see what is being done in Russia to preserve rare species, such as tigers. I am sure that a great deal of educational work will bear fruit, and we will know better what the unique Far East lives and breathes,” said Igor Pavlov, Director of the Eastern Economic Forum.

The 7th Eastern Economic Forum will be held on 5–8 September 2022 in Vladivostok on the campus of Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU). The organizer is the Roscongress Foundation.
