Cultural events have started a bit earlier. The first event was the opening of the "Street of the Far East" — an exhibition representing specificity and diversity of all nine regions of Far Eastern Federal District (FEFD).
"We are opening the first Eastern Economic Forum. For the first time guests from different countries get together in the Primorsky territory. Tools of new economic policy will be presented. We want to jointly create better living conditions in the Far East," — underlined the Head of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) Organising committee, Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev at the opening of the Forum cultural program.
According to the Head of the Ministry of Development of the Far East Alexander Galushka, the specific task was set in creating the cultural events: to allow the guests of the Forum to experience the diversity of the Far East. "Generations and epochs may change, however our Russian culture, staggering in its greatness, remains. One of its facets — the Far Eastern culture — is represented today to the guests of the Forum," he underlined.
As the Head of the Ministry of Development of the Far East mentioned, very few people imagine how contrasting the Far Eastern Regions are. It has access to two oceans: the Pacific and the Arctic oceans. Borders with four states: China, Japan, USA and North Korea. The climate: from the Arctic deserts of Chukotka to hot and humid Primorye.
The cultural richness is based on mixed ethnic composition and specific "Far Eastern" world perception. On a territory 10 times the size of France there are Russians, Ukrainians, Tartars, Jewish people and a big group of indigenous peoples that live there: the Sakha, the Koryaks, the Nanais, the Nivkhs, the Ulchis, the Udege, the Itelmens, the Evenks, the Ainu, the Aleutians, the Chukchi, the Yuits and others.
As the Governor of Primorye Vladimir Miklushevsky mentioned, "the main point is to show, the wonderful people that live in the Far East, because, as you know, people are the most important thing for our land".
Short presentations certainly do not allow describing all the beauty of the regions but they do help however to present a multi-coloured palette of diversity inherent to the macroregion.

Bahrain Joins Framework Declaration on Conservation of Gyrfalcons
The Kingdom of Bahrain has become the seventh country to join the Declaration of Intent for the Conservation of the Gyrfalcon Population. The document was adopted by Russia, China, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and the UAE as part the Falcon Day International Forum, which was first held in Vladivostok during the 8th Eastern Economic Forum. The event was managed by the Roscongress Foundation.

2nd Falcon Day International Forum Dates Announced
The Organizing Committee of the 2nd Falcon Day International Forum met in Moscow under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Viktoria Abramchenko. The meeting was attended by representatives of the federal executive authorities and regional heads of the Russian Federation.
