Russian–Chinese Tourism Forum to be held at EEF 2018

China Chamber of Tourism Chairman Wang Ping and Minister for the Development of the Russian Far East Alexander Galushka discussed matters concerning cooperation between the two countries during a meeting in Beijing on 2 November, the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East said in a press release.

Wang Ping proposed discussing issues concerning interaction in the tourism sector at the Eastern Economic Forum in 2018 on 6–7 September. He said a special session could be held at the EEF to discuss specific projects in the tourism sector as well as the opportunities offered to investors in Russia’s Far East.

“It would make sense to invite major private investors in the tourism sector as well as Russian tour operators to this session”, Wang Ping said.

Galushka supported the proposal put forth by his Chinese colleagues.

“I suggest preparing an exhibition aspect in addition to the business component of the session”, Galushka said.

The officials also discussed presenting the Far East’s tourism opportunities in China.
