The Chukotka Autonomous District will present an exposition titled ‘Chukotka: The Boundary between Humans and the Arctic’ at the ‘Far East Street’ exhibition, which will take place as part of the 6th Eastern Economic Forum. The exhibition is being organized by the Roscongress Foundation with the support of the Office of the Plenipotentiary of the Russian President in the Far Eastern Federal District.
“Chukotka is a unique land with beautiful nature and difficult climatic conditions that is home to active and courageous people. Many Russians dream of going and seeing these Arctic lands with their own eyes, getting to know the amazing nature, experiencing the atmosphere of the region, and learning more about the culture and traditions of the indigenous peoples. Chukotka has been actively developing in recent years. It has become a place for the implementation of large-scale projects. These include a nuclear power plant that has no analogues in the world, the development of the Baim ore zone, which is actually transforming the Chukotka economy, and others. The ‘Far East Street’ exhibition will provide an opportunity to get a feel for the beauty of the nature in the district and learn about possible ways to travel to the Arctic, while entrepreneurs will get information about the opportunities to invest in the region,” said Yury Trutnev, Russian Deputy Prime Minister and Plenipotentiary of the Russian President in the Far Eastern Federal District.
The main idea of the Chukotka Autonomous District’s pavilion is to showcase the synergy of human capital and Arctic nature and convey the scale and uniqueness of the region’s natural resources. The exposition will feature a pavilion, stage, an eco-bar, the Dezhnev lighthouse and a Northern Lights art object.
The interior of the pavilion will be visually and stylistically divided into two parts: the ice of the Arctic and the green flora of Chukotka. It will focus on such areas as tourism, entrepreneurship, industry, investment, and culture.
For example, in the tourism zone, visitors will be able to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of Chukotka and take a virtual trip to its most beautiful sites. The pavilion will offer an interactive door to Chukotka, where you can select a tourist destination and watch a video about this site.
The culture zone will showcase the main components of cultural and household items so that people can learn about the historical and cultural heritage of the Chukotka Autonomous District.
Chukotka Governor Roman Kopin said that the district has long remained a blind spot and terra incognito for residents of his own country.
“The existing programmes for the development of the Far East that have been laid out in depth for decades to come, the unique mechanisms of the preferential regimes of the advanced special economic zones, Free Port of Vladivostok, and Russia’s Arctic Zone, and the launch of first-rate infrastructure and investment projects are doing their job. And now the world views Chukotka as a northeastern outpost of Russia with unique mineral resource potential and experience in working with prominent investors. I invite everyone to come and see our pavilion at the ‘Far East Street’. I am certain that the exposition will give people a desire to get to know Chukotka better and see its unique nature, the richness of its traditions, and the opportunities of the region with their own eyes,” Kopin said.
The street content of the exposition is also well-arranged. Opposite the pavilion there will be a canopy stylized in the shape of a traditional Chukchi sled (nart). Under it there will be a stage for performances with a built-in LED screen, a guest area, and an eco-bar that will offer guests desserts and eco-drinks made from northern berries.
A large-scale structure in the shape of the Dezhnev lighthouse will also be installed at the site. The Northern Lights art object will also be a popular area for guests of the exposition.
The EEF 2021 will be held in compliance with all necessary safety measures and recommendations of the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing and the World Health Organization to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

2nd Falcon Day International Forum Dates Announced
