Roscongress Equestrian Competitions Break New Ground

The Roscongress Foundation is breaking new ground: for the first time in five years, the geographical scope of its equestrian tournaments has reached Vladivostok! On 9 September 2022, the Rosso Equestrian Centre hosted the ‘Roscongress Cup. Coaches’ Cup’. Five local districts in the Primorye Territory took part in the tournament: two clubs from Vladivostok, one from Ussuriysk, one from Nakhodka, one from the Partizansky district, three from the Nadezhdinsky district, plus private owners. A total of 74 athletes took part, riding on four different courses.

Fourteen riders from five clubs in the Primorye Territory competed in the ‘Roscongress Cup. Coaches’ Cup’, at jump heights of 100 cm on Route No. 11.

Prizes were awarded to the riders and instructors who achieved the five best results. Sportswoman Elena Bannikova from the Primorye Territory won the coaches’ cup, while the top result was achieved by her pupil, Anastasia Zhadan, on a mixed-breed bay gelding, Magister. The second and fourth results were also secured by Elena’s students. Second place was taken by Oksana Korlyakova on a Trakehner mare, Prima, and fourth place by Artur Kravchenko on a mixed-breed gelding, Campino. Meanwhile Oksana Korlyakova was pleased with the result achieved by her pupil Violetta Chaika, who took third place on a Budyonnovsk mare, Margarita. Rounding up the top five was Sergei Karachaevsky’s student, Kristina Schreider, who was paired with the mixed breed gelding Vegas.

Notably, Elena Bannikova also won on courses with obstacle heights of 110 and 120 cm. It is pleasant to see continuity through the generations, and that the riders’ coaching staff in the Primorye Territory are so active.

The victors and their instructors received memorable gifts and prizes, and the leader’s coach was awarded the winner’s cup.

Prize-giving for the tournament’s participants was carried out by Sergei Karachevsky, chief judge of the tournament, from the Moscow region; Ekaterina Bakeeva, representative of the Presidential Council of the Russian Equestrian Foundation and member of the Pony Sports Committee; Anastasia Stefanskaya, Vice-President of the Federation of Equestrian Sports of St. Petersburg, Advisor to the President of the Federation of Equestrian Sports of the Moscow Region; Maria Pankova, representative of the Russian Equestrian Foundation; Marina Chumakova, Tournament Director, and Alexander Ivanov, General Director of the Rosso Equestrian School.
