Magadan Region will take part in the ‘Far East Street’ exhibition on 2–7 September in Vladivostok. The exhibition will be hosted by the 6th Eastern Economic Forum organized by the Roscongress Foundation with support from the executive office of the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District.
“Magadan Region is the Far East’s leading and the country’s second biggest gold miner. In 2020, the Region’s revenues were up 24% year-over-year. In the first half of 2021, the growth rate reached 15% year-over-year. The Region is launching new projects. Development of gold mines, such as Natalkinskoye and Pavlik, play an important role in the wellbeing of Magadan Region. The Region boasts new tourism projects, while the urban environment in Magadan gets constantly improved. Of course, we should enjoy more initiatives that target a higher quality of life. Participants and guests of the Eastern Economic Forum will have a chance to learn more about these projects, life in Magadan Region and what Kolyma is famous for,” said Yury Trutnev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District.
Today, the Region is developing domestic tourism. Local authorities focus on upgrading the area of the Nagaev Bay. The urban improvement model will be the centrepiece of the pavilion.
Visitors will get a chance to play an interactive fishing game that will tell them more about dwellers of the Sea of Okhotsk. Players will need to take a fishing rod and try their luck, while they will feel the line getting tight and pulled as if a real fish takes the bait.
Magadan Region pavilion will also offer an interactive presentation on the performance results of the Region’s key industries in 2018–2021 and the outlook for their development until 2024. These industries include mining, fishing, agriculture, energy, transport, and tourism.
“We will present the Region’s investment, trade, tourism, and cultural opportunities. We will share Kolyma’s key industries development status and their outlook for years to come. Visitors of Magadan Region’s pavilion will enjoy presentations of breath-taking tours, ambitious construction and urban development projects, as well as our heritage artefacts. Our pavilion will inform its guests on such investment projects as Talaya recreation centre, a tourist and recreation facility on Zavyalov Island, and urban development of the Nagaev Bay,” announced Governor of Magadan Region Sergey Nosov.
Visitors will get a chance to attend an exhibition and sale of virgin gold jewellery and traditional crafts – bone carving and applied arts. The pavilion will also offer gold washing classes and an opportunity to make traditional artefacts of indigenous peoples of the North – charms, souvenirs, and pendants.
Organizers have prepared an exciting cultural programme featuring Ener, a folk singing and dancing company (their performances are based on the culture of indigenous peoples of the North) and Bayan I Rebyata, a youth music band.
The ‘Far East Street’ exhibition will be open on 2–7 September. On 2–4 September, it will only be available to Forum participants, while on 5–6 September it will be open to residents of Vladivostok. 7 September will be the social day at the exhibition – it will be exclusively available to families with multiple children, retirees, veterans, and representatives of youth organizations.
EEF 2021 will observe all safety rules and recommendations to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection set by Rospotrebnadzor and the World Health Organization.

Amur Region Government Discusses Preparations for AmurExpo 2024
Members of the Amur Region government discussed preparations for the Russian-Chinese AmurExpoForum 2024, which will take place on 24–26 May on both banks of the Amur River. For the second year in a row, based on instructions from Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Forum will serve as an offsite platform of the Eastern Economic Forum. The Forum will be organized with the support of the Roscongress Foundation.

Preparations for EEF 2024 Underway
Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev held the first preparatory meeting for the 9th Eastern Economic Forum. Topics included in the agenda range from future technologies and the development of transport infrastructure to the modernization of energy systems.
