For the first time, dozens of companies from Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Iceland will meet at one venue in Moscow

Smart Nordic Tech 2019, the largest Nordic business event in Russia, will be held in Moscow on 24 October with the support of the Roscongress Foundation. For the first time, dozens of companies from Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Iceland will meet at one venue in Moscow to present their top solutions to Russian partners. The Roscongress Foundation will provide informational support for the Forum as part of cooperation with its organizer, the Finnish-Russian Chamber of Commerce.

“Issues concerning the development of the Arctic zone and the strengthening of business relations between Russia and the Nordic countries are important and are regularly discussed at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the Eastern Economic Forum, and, of course, at the International Arctic Forum, where the heads of state from four Arctic Council member countries – Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden – got together for the first time. At present, we are actively working on the legislative framework to introduce the preferences for investors that are proposed in the Development Strategy for the Russian Arctic until 2035, a plan to develop tourism in all nine Arctic regions of the country, mechanisms for replacing outdated diesel generation facilities in the Arctic, and changes to the structure of secondary professional education in the Arctic zone, which is in high demand among employers. We sincerely welcome the initiative of our partners from the Finnish-Russian Chamber of Commerce to hold Smart Nordic Tech in Moscow and are ready to provide comprehensive support”, Adviser to the Russian President Anton Kobyakov said.

The Smart Nordic Tech programme will include a seminar, a Meet&Greet area for networking, and presentations by Nordic companies that have successfully established themselves on the Russian market. Open discussions will be held on modern equipment and technologies for industrial needs, trends in the construction and energy sectors, and investments by international companies in Russia.

“The key objective of Smart Nordic Tech is for the business community of Russia and the Nordic countries to establish new partnerships. The Russian participants will enjoy the opportunity to network with leading manufacturers and arrange meetings with companies upon individual request,” said Jaana Rekolainen, CEO of the Finnish-Russian Chamber of Commerce.

The Forum speakers will include the Ambassador of Finland to Moscow Mikko Hautala, the Ambassador of Sweden to Russia Malena Mard, the Ambassador of Denmark to Russia Carsten Søndergaard, the Ambassador of Iceland Berglind Ásgeirsdóttir, the Chairman of the Skolkovo Foundation Arkady Dvorkovich, the Chairman of the Board of the Finnish-Russian Chamber of Commerce and CEO of East Office of Finnish Industries Ilkka Salonen, and other prominent members of the business community.

The event is being organized by the Finnish-Russian Chamber of Commerce jointly with Team Finland with the support of the Rosscongress Foundation.
