Creation of the Greater Eurasian Partnership will become a topic for discussion at international events of the 6th Eastern Economic Forum that will be held in Vladivostok on 2–4 September.
The initiative to develop such partnership was previously put forward by Russian President Vladimir Putin, and it was supported by all states of the Eurasian Economic Union.
The process of Greater Eurasian Partnership development has already been launched in the form of integration processes, creation of new free trade zones, improvement of transport infrastructure, and development of the digital economy. Yet obstacles to achieving equal mutually beneficial cooperation remain: from insufficient coordination of national development strategies to lack of information and trust. At the same time, all participants are interested in a fast economic recovery and strengthening of infrastructure connectivity.
“The Eastern Economic Forum is an important platform for the development of long-term fruitful cooperation between Russia and Asia-Pacific countries. That said, the Forum business programme also focuses on the development of integration processes in Greater Eurasia, primarily in economy and trade. In this respect, the Far East is a strategic macroregion. I am certain that key participants from different countries will contribute to a high-quality discussion and finding specific solutions to achieve common goals related to the development of the Greater Eurasian Partnership,” noted Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the Eastern Economic Forum Organizing Committee.
Participants of the Eastern Economic Forum session will discuss the following questions: Will the economies, entrepreneurs and residents of Eurasian countries benefit from such partnership? Can transport and economic corridors become the backbone of Greater Eurasia? Is the prospect of creating a Greater Eurasian energy space realistic? What can the future of the financial dimension of Greater Eurasia look like? Can digitalization be a driving force for linking national development strategies? The discussion will be attended by recognized experts from Russia and Eurasian countries.
The EEF 2021 business programme includes four key tracks: ‘The New Economy: What Changes and What Stays the Same’, ‘The Far East: New Challenges and Opportunities’, ‘Our Shared Responsibility in a Changing World’ and ‘Youth EEF’. Among the international events are the following business dialogues: Russia–ASEAN, Russia–South Korea, Russia–China, Russia–India, Russia–Europa. Also, there will be the APEC Conference on Cooperation in Higher Education in Asia-Pacific Region and the International conference dedicated to the centenary of diplomatic relations between Russia and Mongolia.

Russia and Bahrain Look to Intensify Cultural and Humanitarian Cooperation
Advisor to the Russian President Anton Kobyakov held a meeting in Moscow with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Russian Federation Ahmed Al-Saati, during which the two officials discussed a wide range of issues concerning economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries and reached a number of agreements.

Selection Underway for Third Installment of Far East State Management Personnel Training Programme
The Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic has teamed up with the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation to implement the ‘Muravyov-Amursky 2030’ management programme, providing training for the civil service and development institutions of the Far East.

Preparations for EEF 2024 Underway
Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev held the first preparatory meeting for the 9th Eastern Economic Forum. Topics included in the agenda range from future technologies and the development of transport infrastructure to the modernization of energy systems.
